LEGAL ADVISORY

AB Group provides legal advisory services on a case by case basis or as a retained legal advisor. Retained services are currently provided to a number of financial services companies in Italy and Switzerland.

Areas in which AB Group has particular expertise:

• Contracting, particularly cross border contracting
  
• Legal documentation in regard to corporate finance, such as private placement memoranda, investment offerings
  
• Establishment of new companies in Switzerland or abroad
  
• Cross border transactions
  
• Real estate transactions
  
• Litigation, negotiations, settlements
  
• Matters related to establishment, investment in, dissolution of investment funds, including hedge funds, real estate funds and private equity funds
  
• Establishment and management of offshore investment and operative structures, such as captive insurance companies, fund management companies
  
• General counsel services to small and mid-sized companies (handling of all general legal matters of the company on an external, retained basis)

Recent successes:

• In 2007 AB Group filed suit against and subsequently successfully settled on behalf of an Italian client a multimillion GBP suit against an London bank
• In 2008 AB Group, together with local counsel in USA, won a multimillion USD judgment on behalf of a client in BVI against a Michigan, USA defendant
